I wasn't expecting much from this shredder. I just bought it cause it was a good deal but I was impressed on how well it performed it's task. This is one mean shredder.
Don't think for once you can shred for 10 minutes straight.it cannot perform that long. Bought this with high hopes for this shredder. I called customer support who are somewhat helpful but the minute it goes out of warranty - they won't talk to you. It never could shred the number of regular paper it says it can. I had trouble with it getting jammed from the beginning. So if you buy and have problems, demand a return/refund and document all calls so you can explain the entire issue over the warranty period. I have always owned Fellowes shredders (3 so far over the past 15 years) but will never own another.
I had to manually manipulate it to go on and only for brief pulses. I purchased this shredder after reading all the wonderful reviews. When I unboxed it, plugged it in and attempted to use it, the on/off shredder button did not work. Unfortunately, I cannot afford the postage to send this inferior defective unit back as it weights quite heavy. I will sum it up to garbage and get a unit from a different manufacturer and not through Amazon.comAt $68 plus change, not a cheap trick.
This is the first paper shreader I've owned. However, 2-3 sheets at a time this machine works well. It's not fancy and it does small amounts of paper. It says it can do 8 sheets at a time but I've done max 5 sheets and it seems to struggle with that so I would not recomend doing eight sheets because it will jam. It is a good shreader for common household use. I would not use this for a business or shreading a high volume of paper.
It only got clogged once and I had to try to phisically remove the papers. I had a lot of papers that I wanted to shred and this machine did a great Job in shredding all of the them. It worked very well. After that, all I did was try to avoid reaching its limit of 8 papers. Some what noisy but at its price and performance, it was definitely worth the buy.
